Based in Ohio, we design and build American-made commercial furniture for the restaurant and hospitality industries. Our proximity to the Appalachian region enables us to source our hardwood material locally and responsibly. Crow Works supports large-scale contract manufacturing. We are committed to building furniture that provides a biophilic connection to the natural world and creates a sense of community.
Dennis and Denise Blankemeyer grew up together in a small town in rural Ohio. In 1995, the childhood sweethearts started Crow Works in a 1,200 square foot location in Grandview Heights, Ohio. The company was founded on the steadfast principles of timeless American design, the use of natural materials, and fostering connection and community.
American Crows are known to be curious, collaborative, and adaptable creatures–qualities that we value at Crow Works. “Crow Works” describes a group of people with these shared values, who come together with grit and gratitude to create thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted products. Our icon, “Betty the Crow”, represents our core values and commitment to American innovation.
American hardwoods are an incredible resource. They’re naturally sustainable, resilient, and have a timeless look. The wood we use allows us to showcase the story of the tree and brings natural variation to each product we create. Our teams take this resource and turns it into durable, functional, beautiful furniture pieces built to last.
Our love for natural materials means that we are especially careful when sourcing components and building our furniture. Here are a few of the ways Crow Works does this:
